KITCHEN DESIGN

STEP 1. -  FLOOR PLAN
Draw a floor plan showing all internal wall measurements including entry doors , windows and plumbing locations.
Drawing does not have to be to scale but 1:20 is commonly used in kitchen design.
STEP 2 - THE LAYOUT
There are five basic kitchen layouts.
The sink , the fridge and the cooktop should form a work triangle and should bewithin a few easy paces from one another.

Galley

U - Shaped

L - Shaped

Single Line

Island

STEP 4 - CABINET HEIGHTS

The builders range of flat-packs allows you to choose between two overall heights.
The diagrams below show the cabinets required for each height.

STEP 3 - APPLIANCES
Decide which appliances you would like to have in your kitchen and where you would like to locate them.
STEP 5 - KITCHEN PLAN
Draw a plan of your kitchen using the above guide lines. 
The example below shows the basic design concept and cabinet requirements for this kitchen.
Indicate where you would like to locate your appliances.
An estimate of the cost of the kitchen can be made from this basic plan.

Panels are required on all end cabinets or where the side of the carcass can be seen.

STEP 6 - DOORS AND BENCHTOPS
To obtain an estimate of the cost of your kitchen you will need to decide on the door style and the type of  benchtop you would like to have in your kitchen.
